The National Veterinary Institute (NVI) was established in 1964 under the then the Ministry of Agriculture with the objective of producing different vaccines to protect animals from various infectious diseases. The institute again reorganized as a public enterprise in 1999 by the Council of ministers under the proclamation No 25/1992 and Regulations No. 52/1999 with the mandates of production of veterinary vaccines and drugs.
